E-Hail App Now Enables Partnered Developers to Seamlessly Integrate Useful Travel Information and On-Demand Transportation
Thursday, 20 August, 2014: Hailo, one of the world’s fastest growing e-hail apps, today takes a big leap forward and launches its public API for on-demand transportation. The public API will enable third party app developers to add information about the availability and estimated time of arrival of licensed cabs and cars as well as the ability to hail a ride direct from their apps.
Following the popular integration of Hailo into the journey-planning app Citymapper, the launch of the public API puts the extensive and growing Hailo network at the disposal of third party developers. The Hailo network has carried tens of millions of passengers since inception and encompasses more than 60,000 fully licensed and insured drivers across three continents and in over 20 major cities worldwide.
Jonathan Moore, Chief Product Officer at Hailo, comments: “We’re really excited to announce this latest release. The momentum at Hailo is truly amazing and we’re seeing a huge surge in interest, not just from customers and drivers around the globe, but also from a wide range of different companies who are incredibly keen to plug into our network. This is a big step forward for the transportation industry so we’re really happy to be breaking new ground and incredibly excited to discover where this might take us.”
Naoise Irwin, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Hailo, adds: “Since Hailo’s integration with Citymapper in July, we’ve been approached by numerous interested developers, and we look forward to seeing what other possibilities the public API opens up.”
To access the API, developers are invited to contact Hailo at email@example.com outlining their interest.
